Mildred Theresa McBride
October 8 1918 - August 12 2006

This online memorial was created in loving memory of my Grandmother Mildred McBride, whose life story is told throughout this memorial website. Mildred Theresa McBride October 8, 1918 – August 12, 2006 “This day you will be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:43 Mildred McBride, age 87 of Austin, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2006. She was born in Adona, Arkansas, in St Elizabeth Parrish, to Albert and Elenora Hoyt. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack McBride, sons John and Jeffery McBride, and daughter Jacqui McBride. She is survived by son Joe McBride and wife Paula, daughter Joan Hamilton, daughter Janice Frizzell and husband Randall, son James McBride and son Jay McBride and wife Rhonda, daughter Judy Woodyard and husband Michael, daughter Joyce Toungate, and daughter-in-laws Edris McBride, and Susan McBride. Also, by brothers Fred, James, Harold and Eugene Hoyt and sisters Helen Lanini and Florence Boone. Mildred also leaves; 26 grand children, 45 great-grand children, 2 great-great-grand children. She married Jack McBride, July 18, 1936 in Corpus Christi, Texas. They moved to Austin, Texas in 1947, where Jack and Mildred opened a Physio-Therapy Business. In 1958, Jack and Mildred’s interest in hunting and fishing, led to the beginning of McBride’s Sporting Goods on North Lamar. Mildred was very active in the business, while also raising their 10 children. She loved to quilt and spent many hours making quilts for her family. She was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. She will be fondly remembered as a mother who dearly loved her family and friends. Pall bearers are her grand sons John, Jerry, Joe Jr., and Jeffery McBride, James Hamilton, Billy Winscher, Chris Frizzell, and Kelly Sanford. Rosary and Visitation will be held on August 14, 2006 at 7:00 P.M., at Weed Corley, Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas. A funeral Mass will be held at Weed Corley Funeral Home, at 1:30 P.M., on Tuesday, August 15, 2006, with Father Bill Brooks officiating. Burial following at Assumption Cemetery, Austin, Texas Memorial Contributions may be made to the McBride conservation Foundation % Joe Bob Everett, 512-219-7746.
